During the course of completing projects in Ghana, Lycopodium has become aware of an NGO called B.A.S.I.C.S. working in Chorkor, Labadi, Dome and Achimota which are indigenous communities located in Accra.

Founded in 2001 the organisation is committed to improving the quality of life for children living in these poor communities by getting them into school and providing the support to keep them there. Currently BASICS runs five different programmes which affect over 500 children and families each year.
To enable BASICS to expand and increase its support to the community and provide a larger permanent home for its operation, a new headquarters is being built . It will be a three-storey facility and house a computer lab, sewing lab, home economics/catering and library. In addition counselling and learning group facilities will be housed under this new structure. Solar panels will also be provided to demonstrate renewable energy within the community.
Lycopodium has contributed to the purchase of the land and is providing personnel who are co-ordinating and supervising the construction of the building. Lycopodium personnel are also donating computers, vocational training tools and school supplies which will be used once the building is complete.
