During the construction phase for the Ahafo project in Ghana, many Lycopodium employees based in Western Australia and Ghana were involved in acts of generosity towards the local communities.

Lycopodium's HSEC Officer for the Ahafo project was responsible for organising, coordinating and distributing the gifts that went to several schools in the vicinity.

These gifts ranged from tables and chairs sourced from a Perth primary school to library books, soccer balls, slates, chalks, pens, pencils, exercise books, posters, bookshelves and school book.

It also included simple services like organising repairs to enable the kindergarten children to enjoy their new chairs and tables without risk of theft after hours.  Money donated from contractors and individuals was used to purchase other supplies and equipment from Ghana.
